The Men’s ABB Tee is a FREE basic t-shirt pattern with amazing instructions on how to pick the right size and grade through sizes on the pattern if you span different sizes. There are video tutorials for every step if you need them and also how to make alterations if it doesn’t end up fitting how you’d like it. The pattern is available as a PDF download which you can either print at home on your own printer or send to a copy shop. 10/10 for the pattern ?
My husband has been asking me to make him a t-shirt for about a year! When I finally got around to it, we decided on this pattern as he wanted it to be slim fitting and the ABB Tee is semi-fitted. I did have to grade between two sizes and this worked well.
I didn’t think I would have quite enough fabric so decided to add a white stripe to the front and back. I did this by cutting a chunk out of the pattern, not forgetting to add a 1 cm seam allowance to all pieces to join them up. This worked great and I think it makes it look more interesting.

I had 1 metre of this gorgeous Forest Green - Cotton Jersey from The Sewist Fabric Shop (which has now closed down, unfortunately). It is a really good weight at 215gsm and fabulous quality. I pre-washed it prior to construction to get rid of any shrinkage or colour run and it has been worn and washed since and looks exactly the same.
